Mother おかあさん

ナノカが生まれてこのかた、「ママ」と呼ばれ続けてきたが、Nanoka called me Mama since she started to talk.

突然、「おかあさん」と呼び始めた。Suddenly she started to call me "Mother"

特に、主義がある訳でもないので、そのまま流していたが、徹底して、全部、おかあさん、である。I just let her do as she wanted, but she changed my calling name completely.

私がお母さんなら、パパはお父さんなのかと思い、聞いてみると、「すすむさん」なのだそう。うーむ。How about daddy? Is he going to be Father? I asked her, and she answered, "He is Susumu-san." Sounds like a little bit complicated family,,,

九州では、言葉遣いをしっかり教えたい、と「パパ、ママ」ではなく、「おとうさん、おかあさん」と、赤ちゃんの頃から、きちんと教えているご家庭が多いと感じる。
私は、あまり、こだわりがなかったので、ママとパパが発音しやすかろう、とパパママで育ててきた。時に、「もう、やめて〜」と思うぐらい、ママ、ママ、と大声で呼ばれ続けてきたが、急に「おかあさん」と呼ばれると、ちょっと寂しかったりして。それに、なんだか、一段階、大人になったようにも感じる。言ってる内容は、「おかあさん、食べさせて」「おかあさん、だっこ」などの、甘えん坊大行進の、いつも通りなのだけど。
Probably it is the tendency of the area, but many parents let their baby call "Father""Mother" in Kyushu. They are a little bit strict about the relationship between kids and parents and feeling ashamed to use baby words such as Mama, Papa. I think Nanoka got influence by classmates and started to call me Mother. It was a little bit sad making me feel the end of baby time. Still she is such a baby one, though.
