New Chapter Book "Tamako" ねこのタマコでございます

This is a chapter book I wrote and illustrated.
Japanese chapter books for first grade have pictures every pages,
b/w mainly and several colour pages.
最近書いた幼年童話です。

"Tamako"


"I met Mr. Tanaka when he was college student.
First with Mr.Tanaka only at small apartment, then he got married
Ms. Tanaka then Nao was born. We moved to this comfortable house.
I became 15, old woman now, you can say"
「私の名前はタマコでございます。子猫の時、大学生だった田中さんに
拾われました。田中さんは田中さんの奥さんと結婚してなおちゃんも生まれました。
私はといえば、１５歳になりました。もう、おばあちゃんですわね。」

Tamako took over Nao's spirit, doing some games
with next door boy.
タマコはなおちゃんに乗り移って、「くもあそび」をしたり

Tamako took over Mr. Tanaka's spirit to get rid of Salesperson on Sunday.
田中さんに乗り移って、セールスを撃退したり

Tamako took over Ms. Tanaka's spirit to cheer up depressed neighbor.
奥さんに乗り移って、近所の奥さんを励ましたりして、

Then usually Tamako got fish at the end of every chapter.
Happy ending.
たいがい、最後にはお魚を食べてます。

Japanese believe that cat became monster when they got old.
In this story, Tamako became monster, but she did very cute tricks
and showed how she loved Tanaka family.
一応、化け猫になっちゃうタマコなのですが、それでする事は、
小さなことです。平和な化け猫ちゃんなのです。
