Old Bridge in Nagasaki

I got motivation by the words of my daughter.
She said, "I want to be the artist (in the future)
who change people mind to stop the war."

I, as one of the artist, was moved by her words.
Am I doing something for that now?

I got the chance to be a part of Peace Exhibition in Nagasaki.
Then I thought about what I should draw for that.
10 years ago, I published book named "Haruni Umareru Kodomo"
I got motivated to make this book after 9.11. and middle of Iraque War.
It collects all the peaceful moments from all over the world,
in the past, presence, and future to believe that
every different people would live in peace.

Now, I decided to keep adding the pages for the book
wishing that people would believe in hope
that the Peace in the world can be possible.
This time, I drew "I play with big brother near old bridge."

I looked in some documents and found the fact that US army first
planned to throw atomic bomb onto this river
that was the center of the Nagasaki city.
It would have caused huge number of citizen killed.
That was just mistake to throw the bomb another side of mountain in the city.

In the past,
the US Army tried to throw an atomic bomb
onto this beautiful river and people's daily lives.
I do say this not for fanning hatred but for realizing how inhumanely
people could be once the war started.

To keep Peace, we need enormous efforts every day.
People might be tired and gave up
and believe that easy words or what they want to believe.
But if you realize the fact that efforts were keeping this peaceful moments
from inhumanely tragedies, we again stand and kept walking.
