今月から、上五島の取材に入ります。

２月に、五島、そして、カンコロ餅を取り巻く現状を聞いて、
最初に、訪れてから、半年。

上五島は、潜伏キリシタンの歴史が、今も続く、美しい島です。
人々は、素朴な信仰を守り、厳しい自然の中で、暮らしています。
でも、離島であるがゆえ、急激な人口減少の中で、
この文化が消えて行こうとしています。

今の五島の姿を、記録に残し、そして、人に知ってもらい、
島の人たちの幸せ、
文化とはなにか、そして、
島だらけの日本のこれからを、
一緒に考えていきたいと思いました。
今月から、新聞に寄稿させてもらうことが決まっています。


ただ、取材費が出ないため、家族に迷惑をかけずに、
五島に通うためにも、もっと、仕事を入れたいと思います。
もし、五島に関して、記事・イラストの仕事がありましたら、

私の最終的な夢は、五島を舞台にした、子供向けのお話を書くことです。
(それが、一番、島の暮らしを、感じてもらうために、効果的でもあると思ってます）

多くの人のご協力を得て、現地で取材させてもらうことになります。

I am going to Goto Islands for writing the essay about the culture there.

It was the special island where the hidden Christian have lived
under the prohibition time during Edo era for 200 years.
Their descendant still lived there and kept their simple faith
in beautiful and wild nature island.

But the population there was radically reduced
and the culture there is nearly vanishing.
I just feel that is a big pity and I wanted to record their presence.
Then I decided to travel there for next one year to meet people
listen to their stories and work with them to know deeper.

I got the chance to write to the rural newspaper once a month,
but it does not cover my traveling fee.
So I welcome to take any kind of offer about this special Christian island,
such as illustrating islands cathedrals, natures, or write essay about their life, etc.

My goal is writing picture book about a girl who lived in this island.
That will be the best way to let people feel the reality of the life there.
