取材中 Visit the island

島で芋を掘りました　harvest the sweet potates

はこふぐ trunk fish

取材に来ています。

江袋集落のお宅で、芋掘りをして、お話を伺い、
夕方のミサに参加させていただきました。

まっすぐな素朴な生き方。
あるのは、平和な時間だけ。
 「ここには、やさしい人しか、来ないのよ」

この場所は、人を透明にする。
裏も、表も、中も、外も、ない。
人は、自分以上でも、以下でもなく、
そう思ったら、ただ、自分と向き合って、
こうべを垂れて、そして、やさしい、気持ちになる。

やさしい人しか、来ないのか、
ここが、人を、やさしくして、帰してくれるのか。

「わたしは、しあわせ」と、何十回も、くり返す。
もっているもの、すべてが、愛おしくて、
だから、ただただ、しあわせなのだ、と。

やっぱり、この島には、忘れてしまった、なにかがある。

I am now staying at Goto Island to write about hidden Christian culture.
I worked with one family at the village.

They had very simple but sincere faith.
That made me think how I usually think too much about myself.
I just feel I am already happy with my family and daughter
and my job even we are not wealthy.

Ms. Onoue said, "Everybody who visit us are kind nice people."
but I felt that the place and people there made visitor nice and kind.
People do not need any decorations-they are as they are.

She also repeated "I am very lucky."
That is what all the people should realize again.
