First Visit 初詣

In the early morning of the last day of 2013, we went to morning market to look for fish for New Year dish. おおみそか、お正月のご馳走を物色に、朝市に行きました。

Yellow tail is the most poplar for New Year around the area and it became pricey compared with usual. Still we bought a quoter of a big one.　この辺りでは、「ぶり」がご馳走の代表格。結婚した年の正月に、新郎側の家が、新婦の実家にぶりを贈る習慣があるんだとか。うちも、４分の1サイズを思いきって、購入。

Then the first day of 2014. We went to the first visit of shrine. We went to one of the local one. It was on a small island.　明けて、お正月。初詣に。こちらならでは、、と思い、「九十九島の神社」である、「淡島神社」という小さなローカル神社へ。スロープで島に渡るタイプの神社です。

Nanoka and I went through the gate and climbed up stairs to the main building. This shrine had very unique "small gate" for wish. People went through this small gate three time and their wishes would come true. Of course we tried.ここには、「とっても小さい鳥居」があって、それを３回くぐると、願いが叶うんだそう。もちろん、やってみました。本当に、小さいです。

From Shrine island, there was a path to another island. It was "dragon island"さらに、奥には、竜王さまの島につながってましたが、こちらへ来る人は、本当にまれ。きれいな海と岩場に、「うわ、釣れそうだなあ」という相方。しかし、神様の島なので、釣りはできませんね。

核家族で、マンションで年越しだけど、「伝統的な」お正月を、地味にこなしていく、わが家。１日は、初詣と温泉。2日は、初売りめぐり（佐世保の初売りは、夜中に始まる、かなり変わったものです）でした。
