すもう家族 Sumo family

My daughter's school is Montessori method. Kids spent their times individually.

迎えに行くと、クラスメートの男の子が入れ物を持っていた。I met a boy when we left the school. He held the big container.

山のようなお相撲さんが入っているらしい。Nanoka said, "He contains full of sumo wrestler inside that container."

トントン相撲に凝ってるのかと思いきや、それで、家族ごっこをしてるという。I said, "Wow, so he can do battles using them." She said, "Actually he used them a family play."

相撲家族。シュールすぎると思って、実演したら、大喜びしてた。Sumo wrestler family,,,I guessed it and played. Nanoka was so happy to see.

娘は、ここの所、ずっと、紙で人形を作ることにはまっていて、
山のように作っては、ドールハウスなどで、遊んでいるらしい。

数を作って、ためていくのが、また、楽しいみたいで、
コレクションが、衣装ケースの中に、チラッと見える。

他にも、お相撲さんを山のように作ってる子がいることを聞いて、
子どもは、みんな、夢中になると、いくらでも、作れるんだなあ、と思った。

小学校に上がれば、決まった時間に、決まったカリキュラムを
こなしていくことになる。
一人一人の自由な発想をもとに、授業するのは、難しいので、しかたない。
でも、学校が終わってからの時間は、自分の気持ちで過ごさせたい。

学生時代、LD（学習障害）をもつ小学生の家庭教師をしていた。
学校は、毎日、宿題として、３枚ほどのプリントを、渡していた。
他の児童なら、３０〜４０分で終わる設定なんだろう。
でも、彼女は、漢字を一文字書くのに、１０分以上かかる。
見たものを、そのまま書くのが、苦手なのだ。
反転してしまったり、左右逆に書いてしまったり。
プリントは、家庭教師をしている２時間では、到底、終わらず、
時に、夕食後、１０時頃まで、泣きながら、やることもあったそう。

プリントが好きな子もいるかもしれない。
でも、大概の子は、嫌いだし、その形式じゃ、まったく身にならない子もいる。

宿題、少ないといいなあ、、、と、のび太のように
願ってしまう、元、宿題忘れ常習犯の母なのでした。
I appreciated that my daughter's nursing school gives kids
the free time and free materials.
Then they are very creative and passionate.

Soon she will go to the elementary school.
They have curriculum and teach proper subject within proper time.
It might be difficult for each teachers to concern individual interests,
so it is the way the school goes right now in Japan.

But I just wish that kids need freedom how to spend after the school.
The school gave kids so much papers as homework.
I saw one girl(who has LD) spent whole her time to finish papers until 10pm
crying . Is it really making sense?

I just wish that less homework for my kids.
