たき火 Feeling Fire

裏山で薪を拾い we went to the backyard hill to pick up the brunches

たき火！to make fire!

焼き芋 put sweet potate to bake

昆虫博士と、川の生き物を観察して Prof.Nishizawa showed kids the life in the winter river

おいちゃんから、昔の鳥のワナの仕掛け方を聞く local man showed us how to trap the birds when they were kids.

手作りの竹とんぼ、ありえないぐらい、飛びます！Hand made toy from bamboo. They flied incrediblly!

これ。This is it!

冬型の気圧配置になった、週末。
「こうばる探検隊　冬の巻　〜焚き火で焼き芋〜」を開催しました。
We went to do nature field trip.
It was cold winter afternoon.

裏山で、薪拾いをさせてもらい、
焚き火を焚いて、お芋を投入。
昆虫博士と、冬の原っぱで、ほぼ休眠状態の虫たちや
川の生き物を観察して、ともりだくさんの半日でした。

私が小さな頃は、まだまだ、焚き火をする家も多くて、
公園の掃除をして、落ち葉を集めた後は、
みんなで焚き火で焼き芋をした記憶もありますが、
今は、もう、どこも規制だらけで、焚き火なんて、見かけません。
ナノカも、焚き火は、初めてでした。
When I was a child, we still did some fire after cleaning leaves
and I had good memories to bake the potates.
But now most of areas were prohibited to make fire in their yard.
Nanoka was first time to make fire.

ましてや、「遊びに行ったら、タダで帰るな。
山に行ったら、薪を拾って帰ってこい」という
地元の人の昔話は、新鮮。
子ども達も、大きな薪を、３人も４人も協力して
運んでいて、すごく、楽しそうでした。
We heard old man's stories that
they used to pick brunches whenever going to play the backyard
to support family to make fire everyday.
Kids were happy to carry long brunches together.

寒い日だったからこそ、焚き火の温かさが、
身に沁みて感じられて、人と火の歴史を肌で感じる思いでした。
The warmth of fire in such a cold weather
warmed up us from the hearts
and I was feeling the history of fire and human being.

そして、なんでも、手作りした、集落の人たちの昔の遊び。
モチの木で、とりもちを作り、鳥を捕まえて、
竹ひごで作った鳥かごに入れて、飼っていたという。
鳥かごを作る、竹に穴をほがす特別な錐も、釘をやすりで削って作ったという。
どれだけ器用な子どもだったんだ！
And old men told us the way of life when they were kids.
They made everything-trap to catch the birds, bird cage,
the tools to make bird cage,,,how technicallly supprended they were!

この日、寒さとあたたかさを、自然の中で感じながら、
子どもたちが（そして、大人たちも）、どれだけのことを
心に感じただろうか。
How much kids learn from one day.

先日、尊敬する御仁に、
「いろいろ、どうにも、ならないこともある。
でも、石は投げなきゃいけない。
そしたら、次にきっと、つながる。」
という言葉を、かけてもらいました。

ちょっと、その言葉がわかる気がした、1日でした。
Last week, one man that I respect gave me the word:
"There were so much hardship in the world.
Sometimes we feel powerless and meaningless.
But you have to throw the stone.
It would rink to the next step."
Can this day be a stone?
