Cutest baby? やっぱり、うれしい、、、

Last weekend, I met my friend J and her family who were visiting Japan from NJ. It had been two years I had met them last time and this was the first time for Nano and husband to meet them.　先週末、ニューヨークから来ている友人のJと家族に２年ぶりに会った。ナノと相方を初めて紹介した。

For Nano it was the first time to see the conversation in English, but it seemed to me it did not matter for her. She was happy with them.　Jの娘さんのメイちゃんも、何度か会ってるのだが、今回はすっかりお姉ちゃんになっていて、ナノもかわいがってもらった。

Mei said, "She is the cutest baby I've ever met." I was so happy to hear that！ Mei was such a cute girl and I felt like Nano became worldwide cute baby.　メイちゃんがナノを「今までに会った中で、一番かわいい赤ちゃんだ」と言ってくれた。子供は、そういう事を言うものなのだけど、メイちゃんみたいにかわいい女の子に言ってもらって、ナノが世界に受け入れられた気持ちになって、うれしかった。

When I was in NY, I was appreciating the surroundings where so many culture, country and works live together and I wished that it would be great for kids. However after I got pregnant and moved to Yokohama, it was difficult for me to go to NY and I even did not speak English at all. Moreover I rarely made friend with mothers around here and kept in a small world. I did not care much about it usually but I felt the world of Nanoka spreading by meeting people. The world of kids does not have border and even beyond language . I am looking forward to meeting the world again through Nano. 数年前はニューヨークに住んでいたのに、一度離れると、なかなか訪れる事も難しく、ナノを妊娠した辺りから、英語すらほとんど話していない。それどころか、私は引っ越した横浜でたった一人のママ友すら作る事もなく、狭い狭い世界で暮らしている。ニューヨークにいた時には、いろんな国籍、文化、職業から、考え方の人が雑多に暮らしていて、当時から、子供は「雑多なものに囲まれて、豊かな価値観を拡げていくのがいいなあ」と思っていたのに、、、と言ってはいるけど、実は、ナノカとマイペースで暮らすのは、結構心地よくて、まあ、そのうち、ぼちぼち、行動範囲を広げていこうかな、と思っていた。子供同士でこうして交流させると、手のひら程だったナノカの世界が、一気に広がるのを感じる。ナノカには、言語すらほとんど問題ではなく、本当に子供の世界はボーダーレスだなあ、と思った。また、ナノカと、広い世界に出会えて行くのが楽しみだ。
