「うちの姪っ子も、雑誌、重い、て言ってた」わたし「現代人の筋力が、また、落ちちゃうんじゃないですか〜」"My neath said, magazines are heavy to carry" I said, "Then human being lost more muscular."

「高校生の息子みたいに、片手で、スマホ、打てるようになりたいわ〜」わたし「腱鞘炎になりますよ！」Editor"My son looked down on me touching iphone panel with both hands. I want to use it by one hand." I said, "It will hurt your arm!"

「生まれた時から、スマホのある子たちは、それに合わせて発達するから、大丈夫よ。そのうち、親指が変化するんじゃない？」E"Well. Human being will enlarge their thumb to adjust for touching iphone panel soon." I "Like good swimmer develop their skin between fingers to crawl more water?"

出版は、消えゆく文化なのか、、、我が一家、全滅か？Publishing is banishing industry?

東京で編集者さんたちとした、「出版の今」の話が、シュールだった。
でも、半分笑えて、半分笑えない、わが家。
It was funny talk with editors.
But it was not only jokes for me.

「本を、読まない人、増えたよね〜」と、憂いていたうちは、
まだ、余裕があったのかもしれない。
今や、「まったく、読まない人」というのが、結構な割合になってきた。
絵本がまったく置かれていない家庭も、最初見た時はビックリしたけど、
今じゃ、どっちが多いのか、わからないかもしれない。
新聞、雑誌に関しては、もはや、買ってる人の方が、少ないだろう。
Last decades, we had said, "people don't read books!"
but we still do not take seriously.
Now "Non-reading"population is radically high.
I was surprised to see the home which does not have picture book at all
for the first time a few years ago,
but now I do not know if it is minor or major.

そうして、ふと気づいたら、「本を読む側」の人間がマイノリティになって、
「本を読まなくて、何がいけないの？」
「ていうか、どうして、本なんか、読んでるの？」
となり、ある日、「わ、本、読んでる。変なの」となるかもしれない。
One day I found "book reading people" becoming minority
then people said, "What's wrong about not reading books?"
then "What a hell are you reading books?"
then "Reading books? You are crazy!"

なのに、今も、本の新しい企画を立て、書いている私。
もはや、斜陽産業にしがみつく、頑固な職人の域か？
But I am still a book author and artist.
It will be stubborn craftsman or professor whom people laughed at?

まあ、でも、回り回って、必要なものは、必要な形で残る。
本の持つ「思慮深さ」 という側面は、デジタルのスピード感にはない。
ファストフードとスローフードが、求めるものが違うように、
その、バランスのよい所で、居場所がまた、定まるんだろう。
But actually some culture stayed after some declines.
"Thoughtfulness" the aspect of books, is different from
speed and accessible of digital information.
As first food are different from slow food,
there must be somewhere the book culture is needed.

娘よ。時代に乗って、バリバリ稼いでやれず、ゴメンよ。
そして、旧石器時代の文化で育ててしまって、ゴメンよ。
ただ、回り回って、化石的、骨董的価値が、君の中に生まれることを
祈ってやまない。
I felt sorry for my family that I cannot follow the main stream of time.
I felt sorry for my daughter to bring up under too classic style of culture.
I wish that she will get antique value in her inner culture.
