昔話の矛盾 Pure Heart

発表会の「こびとのくつや」を歌い続けるナノカ。Nanoka sang and told the story of the elves and shoemaker.

聞いていて、気になったので、「どうして、それまで、おじいさんの靴は売れなかったんだろう」と疑問を投げかける。I asked her "why old shoemaker's shoes did not sell before that? His shoes were not good in quality."

ブルブルふるえながら、「おじいさんの靴の品質がイマイチだった」を否定するナノカ。She tried to defend crying.

泣き出したので、追及をやめたら、相方が「でも、なんか、問題あったはずだよ」と加わってきた。やめて、、、I stopped asking since she cried, then husband started to ask, "but it must be reasons since his shoes did not well, at all."

昔話って、改めて読むと、「それで、いいんですか？」と言いたくなる
つっこみどころが、多い。

「こびとのくつや」も、そもそも、小人が作ってくれたものを売って、
お店が大繁盛するって、その後、頼りっきりで、いいのか？とか、考えてしまった。

自営業で、いい品質のものを作ってはいるものの、あまり、経営が
うまくいかなくて、ジリ貧になってしまって、皮の在庫がなくなってしまい、
これ以上の借り入れもできないし、行き詰まってしまった
人のいい老夫婦、というのは、ありそうな話だ。

でも、もし、ずーっと、働いてるのに、靴の品質が悪いのだとしたら、
おじいさんは、向いてなかったのかもしれない。
だから、小人が、良い品質のものを作ってくれた。
そんな結論、さびしいかも。

宣伝がうまく行ってなかったけど、
一度、みんなが知ることになったら、おじいさんの靴の良さが評判になり、
大繁盛した、というのが、本当のハッピーエンドだろうか。

なんて、考えてたら、ふと、ナノカの一人劇に、水をさしてしまった。

たびたび、こういう事をしてしまうけど、
ナノカは、物語に心酔しているので、泣いて、弁護していた。

Old stories have some contradictions.
I sometimes feel "why?""how?"
I felt some question about "the elves and shoemaker"
Is it OK to keep selling the shoes that elves made?

I understood that sometimes small business don't go well
even making efforts. They must run out of leather
but no money and found it difficult to keep business any more.
It could happen to any individuals who is doing business.

I just thought that it was because people don't know
much about their good shoes old man made because of lack of ads,
but once people got to know, people would buy
and their shop went well-happy ending!

Then I gave my question to daughter
but she was into the story
and her pure heart just defend old shoemaker.
Sorry. I did too much.
