佐世保市立図書館カード Sasebo CIty Library Card

２０年ぶり、図書カードが新しくなる。引き渡しに、新聞社さんが集まった。I designed the Sasebo City Library card and I and Nanoka got interviews from Press.

原画とカードを持って、親子で、記者会見。We got Photo shooting.

館長から、「通し番号１番がにしむらさん、２番がナノカちゃん」と言われ、「え、ママが１ばん？」不満顔なナノカ。We received first and second cards. Nanoka complained that she got the second (Mom's one is the first)

ナノカに質問がかかるが、「どんな本が好きですか？」に答えられない、活字中毒者ナノカ。考え過ぎか？そして、ソファでゴロゴロ、ピョンピョン。態度わるー。Her attitude was quite relaxed,,,too relaxed in the last half.

図書カードの仕事がやれるって、しあわせなことです。This is library card. kids read library books and back is 99 islands view.

最近、貧富の連鎖、が話題になっている。
与えられる教育に格差があるため、
結局、貧富がそのまま、次世代に引き継がれてしまう、
という話だ。
学校教育は、常に、改善、是正が、求められるだろう。
In Japan, it is big issue that gap between rich and poor
go to the next generation through the education.
It needs improvement immediately.

その中で、図書館は、自力で学びを深めていける
機関として、 今すでに、ここにある。
山のような本が、知識と、叡智と、希望を、平等に差し出してくれている。
それらは、無料だ。
The library is already existing that give all the wisdom, hope etc
to everybody equal.
It is all free.

ニューヨークのブルックリンで、シングルマザーのパットさんと
息子のオマーと暮らしていた時、オマーが、図書館に通いつめ、
「５冊借りて読んだら、１冊プレゼント」の制度で、本を集めていたのを
思い出す。
I remember that I lived with a single mom and her son in Brooklyn.
The boy went to the library to get one book per 5 books reading.

彼らは決して、豊かな一家ではなかったけれど、
オマーは、図書館から本を借りては、読んでいたし、
聡明で、明るい少年だった。
They were not wealthy, but
he was clever and cheerful good boy
who went to the library.

図書館は無限の可能性があると思う。
Library has enormous possibilities.

日本は、一時期より、すこし、貧しくなった。
そして、その減ってしまった収入を、
どうやって、それぞれが確保しようかと、争い、
結局は、賢く、そもそも力ある人々が、勝つ。
そんな循環のように、感じる。
Right now Japan gets a bit poor compared with decades ago.
People fight to secure to receive from those reduced income
and ended up that wiser and powerful won the battle.

子供達が握りしめる、図書館のカードになれたこと。
とても、光栄に思う。
そのカードが、彼らの、未来へのパスポートになりますように。
I am very pleased to design the card of the library.
I wish that it become bassport for the kids to the future.
