sketchbook スケッチブック

実家滞在中に、古いスケッチブックを整理しようと思って、見直してみた。持ち歩いてるスケッチブックだけでも、３０冊は超える。さらに、それを整理して、本のラフや企画が描かれたものを合わせると、イヤになるほどある。中には、当時思いついた面白いアイデアもあったりするのだが、こんな状態になると、見なくなってしまうので、たまには、こうして整理もしなきゃいけないのだろう。
During my stay at my parent's house, I looked over my old sketchbooks. I brought sketchbooks wherever I go and their number already got over 30. I made some idea sketchbooks and project books beside of them. Can be over 100 in total. I should throw away some of them. I found some interesting ideas inside some old sketchbooks. Once I finished the sketchbook, I rarely looked at it again. I should check them once in a while.

ちなみに、これは、私がどっかの講演会を聞いてとったメモ。メモというには、あまりに絵が多い、、、でも、こうしてスケッチブックをあさると、もう存在も忘れていた講師の顔がちゃんと判別可能に描かれていて、我ながら「絵」の力ってすごいなあ、と思う。多分、文字でメモを取ってたら、あの人の、あのしぐさとか忘れちゃってただろう。
This is the memo I drew listening to the lecture. So much pictures for lecture,,,but I can recognised some of the people's face whom I already forgot the existence. Picture reminds me even his character and some words. I felt the effect of picture. If I took memo only by letters, I could not remember those small impressions.

ちなみに、ドードー鳥の話を思いついた頃のスケッチも見つけた。結構、初期の頃から、話の筋は同じだったようだ。若干、ドードーの目つきが悪いのが気になる。

これは、私のような職業の人間がとるノートなので、かなり特殊なのだとは思うが、先日、「表のあるノートを作ることが、アイデアを明確にして、仕事がはかどる」的な本をちら見した（あまりビジネス書と関わりがないので、読むことがないのだ）。そういえば、昔イラストレーター仲間に誘われたバイトで、「プリンストン大学のaccountant達に、ロゴ作りをさせる指導をする」というのがあった。都合で行けなかったのだが、頭が偏りがちな数字の世界の研究者達に、まったく別の体験をさせることで、発想を豊かにさせる、ていうプログラムだった（やりたかったなあ～）。私達の仕事は、自由気ままにやっているようだが、結構なメモを取るし、確かに、アイデアを固めていく過程は、案外、理論的でもある。私なんかに、教わりたくないかもしれないけど、一度、ビジネスマンとか、高級官僚とかに、そういう授業をやってみたいなあ、て思ったりする
I found the very first sketch of Dodo story. I can see it was almost same story from the beginning. Well, Dodo bird looked not so friendly at the beginning,,,
Artists' sketchbooks(notebooks) differ from ordinal one. On the other day, my boyfriend is reading the business book "those who can think visually will be successful." I had no chance to read business books, but it was interesting. When I was in NY, an illustrator told me an interesting job opportunity. We went to Princeton University and taught the accountant scholars how to make the logo. Of course they do not need to make the logo for their lives. The main purpose there was "brain shuffle". For those number-based people had tendency to think and it is very useful for them to experience visual lesson. I wish I would teach that kind of class to business men or elite government officers.
