How to choose the maternity clinic 産婦人科を選ぶ

In Japan, the number of the maternity doctors decreased and there were some problems for the pregnant women to find place to delivery. When I got pregnant, I was advised that I should reserve the delivery clinic as soon as possible. Each places has each styles. It was not easy to decide where to deliver in such an early stage. 妊婦たらい回し事件もあって、妊婦はみんな「早めに出産場所を確保しておこう」という意識があると思う。が、出産って、いろいろな主義やスタイル、そして事情もあって、結構、選択の幅がある。持病があれば大学病院のような大きな所がいいだろうし、助産院で家族的な出産を望む人もいる。少し調べて考えてみたが、特殊な出産を望む強い気持ちにはならず、安全第一で、バランスのいい出産ができればいい、と思った。かなり早い時期に、分娩予約をとるため、決断しなきゃいけないのが、現実だ。

In total, I went to 4 maternity clinics. First I checked if I got pregnant near my apartment in Kichijoji. Then I moved to Yokohama and I went to private neighbor clinic for monthly check. Because we decided to deliver at my parent's town, I had to find the clinic there. I asked around and I went to two clinics to check.　私の財布には、４枚の産婦人科の診察券が入っている。４つもかかったのだ。そうなったのは、最初に吉祥寺で妊娠をチェックしてもらい（３回程、通った）、横浜に引っ越したのでそこでおじいちゃん先生の個人病院に定期検診に通い、里帰り出産をどこでするか決めるのに２つの病院にかかったのだ。

Every time I visited the new clinic, I was asked Urine test. I was saying, "I marked the territory in new clinic" 行く度に、新しい病院で検尿をさせられたので、「また、マーキングしてきた」と言っていた。テリトリー拡げても、仕方ないんだけどねえ。

In November, my husband was between old job and new job, and he could accompanied me to the clinics around. First we went the clinic where my friend had two difficult deliveries. Doctor was serious and severe and we had impression we could trust him. Another one was the clinic that my sister recommended. It was the private clinic near my parents' that was built by doctor who was chief of my sister's delivery hospital where the natural birth. The doctor was talking lower voice and kind of hard to listen, my husband felt, but he could see all the exam and room with me and nurse were all kind and we really liked it. And we reserved the delivery right away.　ちょうど１１月（妊娠３ヶ月）頃に、実家に戻る機会があったので、出産病院探しをする事にした。相方も転職前の休み中で、二人で病院巡りをすることができた。１つめは、友人が２回出産した病院で、難しいケースでも無事出産していたので、信頼できると思った。安全面重視の少し厳し目の先生だったが、確かに腕はよさそうだった。２つめは、姉が薦めてくれた、実家の側の病院。姉の出産した名古屋市内の病院の元部長が独立した個人病院で、自然分娩を推進している。「先生がぼそぼそ話して、よくわからなかった」と相方は言ったが、でも、病室にもはじめて入れてもらえて、心音に感動していた。全部見学させてもらえ、雰囲気もよく、そして助産師さんが先生を尊敬しているのが伝わってきたのが決め手で、その場で決めて、分娩予約までして（７ヶ月後の！）帰った。

Now I could see how poplar and crowded the clinic. It was filled until December. I am really happy about my clinic and felt lucky I could reservation at that time.　今、産院に通っていて、壁に年内いっぱい分娩予約が埋まっているのを見て、ホント、あの時即断して、予約してよかったなあ、と思う。本当に１２週とかで埋まっちゃうんだね。
