カンコロ会議に出る I went to Goto for meeting

今回は気づいたら、写真をほとんど撮っておらず。去年、訪れた時の写真。En, the school for life-they produced the sea salt and accept kids to stay a year to go to local school.

８ヶ月ぶりに、上五島に上陸。

去年、さらに激減してしまった上五島のカンコロを、
なんとしても、応援したいと、立ち上がった企画の会議に出席した。

むかうフェリーで、農業指導をしている山本さんに出会う。
怪我をされて、通院している帰りだったが、
おかげで、会議に誘うことができて、貴重な人材が企画に加わった。

帰るフェリーに乗ると、今度は、
江袋集落の勇さんとふささんに、ばったり会った。
ご親戚のお見舞いに、佐世保に向かう所だった。

港から片道１時間程かかる江袋まで会いに行く時間がなかったのに、
フェリーの中で、２時間半、ずっと、おしゃべりすることができた。

自宅に、新興宗教の布教者がやってきた時のお話が、おもしろかった。
熱心なカトリック信者しかいない集落にまで、新興宗教の方は訪ねてくることは
驚きだったが、それに、まともに対応しているなんて。

「お金と、知恵と、どちらが、大切か」と、布教者に問われて、
どっちかなあ、と悩んで、
「考えておきます」と答えた、ふささん。
その夜、勇さんと、お嫁さんのさつきさんと、
「どっちかな」と議論したそうだ。
「お金も大切ぞ」と勇さん。
でも、知恵がなければ、パチンコでもして、使ってしまう。
上手に使うためには、知恵もいる。
「知恵も、お金も、大切ぞ」が結論だった。

その新興宗教の人の意見は、「 知恵こそ」だったらしいが、
きっと、その宗教の勧誘のためのマニュアルなのだろう。
私なら、門前でお断りしてしまう、お話を受け入れ、
さらに、家族で、話題にして、自分の心で答えを導くことができてしまうのが、
深い信仰心で学び生きる人にだけできる、本物の問答のような気がした。

笑いあり、涙ありの、ふささんのお話で、短く感じたフェリーの旅。
  
上五島に行くたびに、偶然、絶好のタイミングで
大切な人や場所に出会い、不思議な感覚に陥る。

カンコロの記事を書き始め、カンコロのリーフレットを作り、
潜伏キリシタンのリーフレットを作り、そして、今年はカンコロの企画が始まった
わたしの上五島通い。

私は、特定の信仰のない人間だが、
この島や、信仰を守るために、必要な人間を、
島が呼んでいるのでは、と感じることがある。

そういう、ミラクルパワー的な話をすると、ややもすれば、怪しく思われがちだが、
私としては、もし、大きな力が、私を必要として、働かせているのだとすれば、
それも、またよしかな、と思うのである。

カンコロの企画に悪戦苦闘する人々を、今度は、読み物にしたい。
それが、流れの中で思う、「わたしの次のおしごと」です。
By chance, I met Isamu and Fusa, the old Christian couple
in the ship on way back to Sasebo.
I visited them several times
and wrote about their history, their belief and life.
They lived in the northern part of Kamigoto island
and hardly to visit in a short trip, then I could not visit them this time,
but I got chane two and half hours to talk with them.

Fusa was alway very charming speaker.
She told me the story when Jehovah's Witnesses visited her house
and discuss with her. (I was just surprised at why they visitied
such a enthusiastic Cathoric area)
They asked Fusa, "Which is importance do you think, Money or Wisdom?"
Fusa thought for a while, they she was not sure, so she said to them,
"I will think about it"
On that night, she discuss it with her husband Isamu and daughter in law Satsuki.
"Money is also important." Isamu said.
but they thought they used it up such as gambling if they do not have wisdom.
then they ended up "Both money and wisdom is important."

Jehovah's Witnesses visitor said "wisdom is important"
that might be one part of manual missionary work.
But Fusa and Isamu were deeply religious that
they did not care about discussing anything with other people.
They are religion itself.

I love to talk with people there.
They were ordinary honest people,
but that made them so special.
I never had such a fun time in the conversation
with people in Tokyo(I am sorry) even they do big business
or very successful.

This time I visited Kamigoto to participate in the meeting
to establish the contest for Kankoromochi.
I believe that support production of sun dried potate
that was almost vanishing tradition.

For three years I had been visited Kamigoto
and met so many people.
Sometimes I felt like some big power made me
work for this Island and their faith.
But if so, I accept as it is.
