今回は、平戸の春日集落のお話です。
This time the story is about Kasuga village in Hirado.

平戸は、今でこそ、橋がつながり、車で渡れますが、立派な「島」。
その西海岸は、陸路だと、平戸の奥地になり、
人口減少の波を受けていますが、
海が交通の主な手段だった時代は、
こちら側にこそ、活気がありました。
Now it was other side of main town since the bridge was built
and we could access by car, but it was other root by ships.

「祈りをつないだ　ひとびと　潜伏キリシタン」
のリーフレットを作成するにあたって、一通り、勉強して
初めて、理解できたのですが、
長崎の潜伏キリシタンには、平戸藩系列と、大村藩の外海系列があります。
ややこしいのは、藩の政策でキリシタンに改宗した、
平戸藩の領地でも、その後の迫害で一度、信仰が途絶え、
その後に、外海から、違う潜伏キリシタンが移住してきた、
という場所が、結構、多いのです。
When I wrote the leaflet about the Hidden Christian,
I stdied throgh the history and finally I understood.
The history of Nagasaki was really complicated.

そんな中、この春日は、平戸藩の政策で、初期の布教で改宗し、
その教えをずっと、守ってきた場所です。
Kasuga is the place when the most first place
they changed to the christian by Lord
and kept their faith even after the Lord had gone
and the Government prohibited it.

春日集落は、禁教が解けた後も、それまでの信仰と文化をそのまま継承してきました。
時代の流れの中で、信仰も儀式も、今はほとんど、されていません。
おばあさん達は、カクレキリシタン信仰の洗礼儀式を受けた、最後の世代になります。
There old ladies are the last generations that the Hidden Christian's buptism.

そのおばあさん達が、お漬物を漬けて、お茶を出して、
おもてなしをせっせとしてくれる、かたりな。
それが、集落に人を呼び、次の世代に、残る場所になっていく。
そんな、希望を、感じさせてくれました。
The old ladies served the tea and handmade pickles
to welcome the tourist believing if the village became poplar,
kids and grandkids can got jobs here and stayed.

春日集落の米を使い、上五島のかんころと作った、かんころ餅も、
もうすぐ、発売になるようです。
しかし、かんころが、いよいよ、なくなってきている、上五島。
来月号では、上五島で、かんころを復活させるための試みを取材します。
Soon, Kankoromochi will be on sale that rice produced in Kasuga
was used.
In the next article, I will report the Kamigoto where the kankoro
was radically reduced and they tried to plan the event
to support kankoro production.
