運動会って、たのしかったんだ Nanoka's schoool sport day

前日に、仕事で疲れた目を酷使して、ゼッケンをつけましたが、ちゃんと、米軍のおうちの子も、「１−１デービス（仮名）」などのゼッケンつけてました。All must got their name plate sewed on shirts.

１−６年生まで合同で応援合戦。１年生は意味もわからず、言われるがままにやってるのが、見え見え。一生懸命、手を叩いたり、こぶしをあげたりしてるのが、かわいかった。1-6 grades got together to made cheers. First grade kids had not known but just did as 6 grades said.

 ちなみに、応援合戦の指導は、応援団長の６年生がしたんだけど、先生に「（６年生の）言うことを聞きなさい」と叱られたと言ってた。あやふやな説明と、全く理解してない１年生との混乱ぶりを想像すると、笑ってしまう。Nanoka told me that teacher ordered 1st grade kids to listen to what 6 grade said. I just imagined the chaos of their practice time and just smiled.
運動会っていう、日本的なこのイベントを、米軍の人はどう思うんだろう、と思ったけど、ビデオ回して、大声で応援して、PTA競技に出て、めっちゃ、楽しそうでした。もしかして、このために、わざわざ現地校に入れてるんじゃないか、と思うぐらい。 Sports day was such a Japanese unique event of the year and I was afraid how international students parent feel about it, but actually they seemed to be fully enjoying! Was it the reason why they put kids into Japanese school?

かけっこの代わりに、ラッキーカラーという競技に参加。途中で、４色の旗から一本選び、それがお兄さんと一緒だとそのまま走り、違ったら、戻って、旗を持ち直してゴールに走るという競技。おもしろかった。Nanoka did "Lucky Color" kids ran to frags and chose one from 4 colors. If it was same as leader's choice, they ran straight to the goal. Others have to go back to change the frag. Fun to watch!

保育園の運動会が、とにかく、ほのぼの、ワイワイ、という感じだったので、
何日も練習をしなきゃいけない、小中学校の運動会を、正直、どうよ、と思ってたけど、
実際に見ると、「世の中に、まだ、こんな、おもしろいものが、あったのか」と
感動しました。

悲喜こもごも、眼の前で繰り広げられる、リアルなドラマと、
それにまつわる、国際色も混じった、家族。
そして、これだけの年齢差（６歳から、１５歳）が一緒にスポーツしてるのが、
（それも、フレーフレー赤組、だし）、かわい過ぎました。
To be honest, I had not been positive about this event since kids need so much practice before the day, but actually it was fun to watch !
