| 長崎県内の小中学校は、すべて、登校日で、平和への祈りを、ささげます。ナノカは私立小学校に通っているので、家で過ごしています。In Nagasaki, all the public school students went to the school to take the Peace education on this day. Nanoka was staying at home since she goes to private. |

この日は、夏休みど真ん中ですが、公立小中学校は登校日です。
まわりに、被爆者手帳を持つ方、２世、３世の方々がいます。
そして、身近に、関係のある場所や物と、出会うことがあります。
We moved to Nagasaki 7 years ago and
I got to feel this day much closer.
My fried and Nanoka's friend are the second or third generation
of Atomic bomb survivors.
School gave kids peace education during the summer vacation.
And there are many icons nearby us.

| This was the cave made by elementary school kids for the shelter. Some burned people were shipped to here. In the middle of the summer, many were killed without any good treatments, but people who came here survived since it was cooler in the cave. |
戦争末期に、小学生によって掘られた防空ごうですが、
防空ごうとして使われることはなく、終戦を迎えました。
使われたのは、原爆で火傷を負った人たちが、長崎市内から、
電車で運ばれてきて、はえのさき、の駅で降ろされ、
無窮洞に運びこまれた時のみ、です。
今年も、非常に暑いですが、原爆の直後も、お盆前の暑さの中、
火傷や重症を負った方々は、治療を受けることもなく、
体力を失い、亡くなられていったそうです。
そんな中、この無窮洞に運ばれた方は、洞の涼しさもあり、
回復することができた、と案内人の方に、説明を受けました。
その話を聞いて、身近な電車や、夏の暑さを
過去の悲劇と重ねて、感じることができました。
私たちは、ふだん、平和の中で、暮らすことを、
当たり前と思い、それは、
とても、幸せなことだと思います。
でも、こうして、過去を振り返る時間があることは、
さまざまな事に、想像力を持ち、
心をくだく、きっかけにもなる。
世界情勢が不安定になり、投げやりな気持ちになりがちですが、
長崎市長が言われた通り、私たち一人一人は、
微力ではあるけど、無力ではない。
平和をつくる努力を、し続けたいな、と思いました。
We easily forgot the past.
We thought that Peaceful days are not special thing.
Maybe it was very happy things.
But as we spent a day to think about the past and
talk about peace, we got to know the importance of that
and we have more interest in what we should do to keep that.
Nagasaki Mayor said,
"Each has only small power,
but not none.
We should keep making effort without giving up."
I want to share the prey for the peace with all the people in the world.
