An-Pan-Man アンパンマン

When Harudo was 2 or 3 years old, he was a big fan of An-pan-man and he picked up any products such as cookie or snack on which An-pan-man was printed when we went shopping. It was weirdly appealing to all kids for some reasons. I felt it was really troublesome habit of kids and wished Nanoka not have same habit. ハルトが小さかった頃、最初にはまったキャラクターは、アンパンマンだった。買い物に行くと、目についた「アンパンマンビスケット」とか「アンパンマンマスク」など、アンパンマンのついたものを、かたっぱしから選んで持ってきては、欲しがった。アンパンマンのおそるべき吸引力に、驚いたものだ。

First of all, I do not want Nanoka to watch TV when she is little, so I did not show her animation on TV and Nanoka never watched An-pan-man at home(nurse showed her only once at hospital to cheer her up after vaccination). She only had kids plates which Haruto used which print was nearly coming off. 私は、テレビをなるべく見せないようにしているので、ナノカはアンパンマンを家で見た事がない（予防注射で泣いた時に、病院の控え室で看護婦さんが流した事があったが）。ハルトからゆずられた、お古の食器に、はげかけたアンパンマンがついてるのが、唯一の接点だったはずなのだが、、、

She had only a few chances to see An-pan-man, but she got to know in some way and she picked up An-pan-man when police girls let her to choose various kinds of character wappens. How could she know it? Or just kids like An-pan-man's round shape face?公民館や、交通教室で、シールやワッペンのプレゼントがあると、ナノカは必ずアンパンマンを、ものすごい勢いで選ぶ（他に、チーズ（ワンワン）やキティちゃん（ネコ）など、知らなくても、もっと食いつきそうなキャラもあるのに）。アンパンマンの丸顔が子供の心を、つかむのだろうか？

Still she did not know the story of An-pan-man, but she finally called it "An-pan" even though she has still only few vocabulary. Is An-pan-man so important to her? And why? そうして、なぜだか、アンパンマンを認識してるなあ、、、と思っていたら、ある日、ボキャブラリーもまだ数個なのに、アンパンマンを指して、「アンパン」と呼ぶようになった（そして、馴れ馴れしい呼び方、、、）。そんなに、アンパンマン、重要？

An-Pan-Man is first hero of many of Japanese kids. His head is made of bread staffed with red beans paste and he gave his head to hungry kids. I am sure it is so difficult for foreigners to understand this kind of hero, but anyway, Japanese kids loved it so much. There are so many products of An-pan-man since he was such a big hero of especially small kids and we can see them everywhere kids go-hospital, station, nursery school and so on. Nanoka happily played with them and finally started to call him even though I did not teach her anything about him. What point of An-pan-man is so appealing to kids?
アンパンマンは、小さな子供に文句なしに大人気キャラクターだ。その「顔があん入りパンでできていて、お腹をすかした人にその顔を食べさせてあげる、ヒーロー」というのは、アメリカ人には全く理解できない世界観らしく、いくら説明しても、「それがヒーロー？」と、通じなかった。とても、日本的な発想なんだなあ、と実感したものだ。
それにしても、特にテレビも見せてないのに、どこへ行っても見つけ、名前まで呼ぶようになったナノカを見て、若干、アンパンマンの吸引力が、恐ろしくなる。０歳児、１歳児のように、親でもコミュニケーションを取るのが難しく、何が好みなのかつかみきれない子供の心を、すべてさらっていくアンパンマンの魅力のポイントって、なんなんだろう。ナノカに聞いてみたいけど、アンパン、は言えても、使える言葉はまだ数個。「アンパンマン、なんで好きなの？」「アンパン」（うなづくナノカ）という会話（？）がくり返されるのみ。きっと、ナゾのままなんだろうなあ。
