Chrismas Postcard

Last one is Christmas card. I thought it would be great if I make a Christmas card every year. I tried to calm color for this card.
The event is coming this weekend. My husband was supposed to have day off(he works on Saturday sometimes) but he said he could not make it this weekend. OMG. How can I bring my staff to the park and set up the shop by myself with sickness? Well, we started early in the morning and I just hope that my condition won't get worse.

Postcard of mandarin plantation

Nagasaki is the prefecture of the mandarin oranges. In the season, we can see the thousands of mandarin riped in a tree that is covered the hills facing blue ocean. Very bright, very islands scenery and beautiful.

Postcard of 99 islands

Ishidake Observatory. One part of the opening of "The Last Samurai" was shot here. It is famous for its beauty of sunset of the 99 islands National Park.
During Bank Holliday, I asked my husband to take care of Nanoka and housework since my maternity sick was getting serious and I rather worked on finishing the postcards art and sent to the printer 4 images at the end. I did the least preparation for the event under the bad condition.
Nanoka was not disturbing my work. She tried not to come to my workshop and even if she came over she never touched art materials. She is original very curious and always try to do the same as I do when I cook, clean or even read the book. I had never worked when she was at home and I did not expect she could respect my working. At the end, I said thanks to her about being patient to give me the time to work. She listen in a serious face and jumper to my arms. I felt she grown up.

Art Market 2013 Sasebo

Post Card of Sasebo places. Ginza.
I will participate to the art event at the Park of the center of Sasebo, on September 21 and 22. This year, I would make the postcards of Sasebo Sightseeing places wishing that travelers and citizen can send to the friends and family for just with small message. I love the culture of sending the postcards.
It was just a pity that I got sick by maternity just after starting to prepare. I do not know how many more I can make before the event,,,well I will do my best!

Another one will come next spring

We took the photo "we are waiting for you" to baby.
I went to the clinic and found that my second baby will be born around April 24th next year. There were so much worry about future, but still we were happy about that. I guess that we just had to do our best to bring up our two treasure.
I already felt sick and my daily life was not easy. But I have to take care of Nanoka and I cannot be down, so I tried not to be very sick.
There will be Art Event at Sasebo on 21st and 22nd September. I need to prepare for that. This was the reason why I could not update the blog for a while. Sorry about that.
Nanoka tried to understand my change. She said, "Mommy has baby inside" and she said, "I will give my toys when it comes out" from her. I was moved. At the same time, she already became like baby-she only slept on my knee at night. It would be tough after baby's birth.
It will have some limitation to my work after birth for a year or so. But I felt it is a part of life and probably even good for my art work. There were so many different stages in the life and being mother is a big part of that. I might have a little "slow down time" as an artist, but it will be fruitful later. I mean, anyway, we all have to express based on the emotion what we felt through the life.
I wish I could read my own books to Nanoka since she loved the picture books. But probably it happens to many authors that they feel something through the kids and express, and when it is published, the babies are already not at that age.
Instead, I told Nanoka every night original story. It started that she did not sleep when light was on and I was reading the books, I put light off, and made up a story that Nanoka was main character and it was about her day. She loved it. And asked husband, too. He actually did well, too.
Maybe all other mothers did similar things. They talked with kids, care them and worry them. They did not have a chance to tell around about it, so people believed that it was "daily" and "ordinary", but actually everything is done by continuous effort. I now felt respect and sympathy to all the moms in the world and different generations.
I wanted to keep writing here about daily things believing it has some sympathy to those who are spending "ordinary" days. I mean, I will face on the "late child bearing" "morning sick with kid" and "first kid's emotion" etc.

Sasebo dialect

I and my husband both are from outside of this area and not familiar with dialect here. We had no idea how to use it.
One day Nanoka asked me in Sasebo dialect.
I was not sure if she did, and freeze it not to answer,,,

She asked me again louder in Sasebo dialect. I see. She got it.
I pointed her way of using the word is not necessary in the conversation. She burst crying. She leaned new way of language and delighted to use it believing it was right. Then I said something negative. She was so sad. I should not have done it...
On the other day, she said more complex dialect. I laughed at it. She repeated happily. I felt, "her dialect became more than I can copy." and a little sad.
We thought it would happen sooner or later that she started to speak in Sasebo dialect since she would be surrounded by that outside home. It was actually a little bit shocking for me to listen to her speaking in dialect which we cannot speak. This might be a feeling that immigrant family feel to their kids who became fluent speaker of new language?

Don't hurt the boy's pride

At Fukui, Koushiro showed off his "manly" catching insects. He asked Nanoka to follow him. Nanoka just followed as he said.
One and half year older Koushiro had readership all the time. Nanoka obeyed happily. They looked like a brother and sister or good friends.
At the evening, we had BBQ at the yard. When preparing that, Koshiro came to me and asked to take him inside since he could go by himself. He was so excited to catch the frogs a few minutes ago. He might be scared of white butterfly.
I brought him to his mom and he ran to her. I guess he was missing mom, too. When he came back to the yard, Nanoka talked to him loudly "Are you scared? It is OK. Don't be scared." like mommies do to the kids. Well,,,she kept scared of the darkness and frogs and never left from my arms. And don't hurt Boy's pride. He did not want to be point out that he was scared.
Yesterday at the school, I saw Nanoka spoke to her classmate(older). Nanoka said, "We did the same. Good for you." or something. She spoke like elders do to the kids, from upper, to teach. She cheer me up to say, "Heavy, huh? You can do it. It is OK" when I carried heavy bags and her in arms to ride the bus. Well, first, I wanted you to walk by herself,,,
She was social kinds and she likes friends. Then she was very good speaker as her age and her way of speaking is like adults-from top to tell the kids. I was a little worried that she made impression on friends pushy because of that.
